Austrian Post Issue World’s First Blockchain Powered Stamp
[ChainDD report] June 12 (ChainDD) Austrian Post, the leading postal service provider in Austria that has the largest private customer networks in the country, announced on June 11 that it has issued 150,000 collectable “Crypto Stamp” with face value of € 6.90. This is the first stamp that can be authenticated by blockchain technology in the world.
The Crypto Stamp can be divided into two parts: the left part has a unicorn image associated with Ethereum and can be mailed as a standard stamp; the right part contains credentials that used to authenticate the Stamp through blockchain technology.
The Stamp can be available in all the branches of Austrian Post. The buyer can store the digital Stamp on blockchain as well as in an exclusive digital wallet via the code of digital version and access to wallet on physical Stamp. All the transactions of the Stamp will be recorded on blockchain.
