Qiwi's Co-founder Chose to Receive 1.1 Times the Capital Next Year from Telegram

May 17 (ChianDD) According to Forbes, Sergey Solonin, Co-founder of Russian electronic payments company Qiwi, said he would convert a $17m investment in the Telegram TON project into a loan.

The loan will be repaid in the form of "principal plus interest" in April next year.

In late April, Telegram announced a delay to launch TON next year, and investors can choose to let Telegram return 72% of the investment capital, or continue to invest until a year later to receive 1.1 times the capital, according to a previous report by ChainDD.

But Telegram announced on May 12 that it was abandoning its TON project, after losing a court battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
